The next ramble is on Saturday, 2nd September and we will be hopefully visiting Wilmcote and Mary Arden’s House. The walk will begin at the Stratford-on-Avon Park and Ride car park. To get there, go south on M5, east on M42 and south on M40. Leave the M40 at the first exit [A3400] and turn right for Henley-in-Arden. Go straight through Henley and continue until you come to the suburbs of Stratford. Here you will pick up the Park-and-Ride signposts and follow these until you reach the parking area, which is roughly by the junction of the A3400 and the A46. Park where you can in the extensive car park and assemble at the point where the buses stop [by the public toilets!]. As far as Derek is aware, this car park is free but things may have changed since last year. Also, it isn’t necessary to be using the bus in order to use the car park [again, unless things have changed!]. The ramble will start at 12.30 p.m.; drivers allow about 75 minutes to be on the safe side. For further information see Derek, or ring him on 429 8314 – and do this anyway if the weather is dodgy.
