Wednesday, 27th December Harborne Walkway/B’ham Canals [NO CARS]12.30 pm

Next month’s walk is on Saturday, 12th August and we will hopefully be exploring part of the National Forest, where we haven’t been for some years. This is the walk that had to be cancelled last year due to heavy rain. The walk will start at the Rosliston Forestry Centre. To get to the start, follow M5 north and M6 east [or go through the city centre and along the Aston Expressway, joining the M6 at Spaghetti Junction]. Branch left on to the M42 northbound and continue along the M42 until you come to the end of the motorway, where it becomes the A42. Leave the motorway at this point [junction 11] and turn left on to the A444 towards Burton-on-Trent. Continue along this road through the village of Overseal and at the far end of the village turn left on to a minor road for Linton. Go through the village of Linton and then you will pick up the signs for Rosliston. Go through Rosliston village, following the brown signs for the Forestry Centre, and you will soon come to this complex on your right.  Park as near as you can to the centre itself [pay and display] and assemble by the entrance to the Visitors Centre for a 12.30 p.m. start. Drivers, allow about 75 minutes. For further details, see Derek or ring him on 429 8314 and do this anyway if the weather is dodgy.
