TThe next walk will be on Saturday, 25th March and will be around Furnace End and Over Whitacre, the walk that had to be cancelled last year because of heavy rain. To get to the start, follow M5 north and then M6 east [or alternatively take the Birmingham Inner Ring Road and the Aston Expressway to join the M6 east at Spaghetti Junction]. Leave the M6 at junction 4 [be careful not to go onto the M42 at junction 4a] and turn left on to the A446. Immediately keep straight on at the first island [don’t go into the NEC!] and keep going down the long straight dual-carriageway to the next island, and here turn right on to the B4114, signposted Nuneaton and Shustoke. Go through the edge of Coleshill and then keep on the B4114 through Shustoke village [watch the speed cameras here!], and into Furnace End. Here turn right at the crossroads and head up the hill. You will see Over Whitacre church in front of you as you climb the hill and just before you get to the church, as the road bears to the right, there is a small feed road to the left off the B4114 which leads into the church car park and this is where the walk will start. Assemble here for a 12.30 p.m. start.

Drivers, allow about an hour.
