EARLSWOOD LAKES

The next ramble is the annual all-day upsie-downsie walk and this year we will be tackling Dumbleton Hill and the surrounding countryside. This will take place on Saturday, 9th June. To get to the start, follow M5 south to junction 9 [Tewkesbury]. Leave the M5 here and turn left on to the A46 towards Evesham. Pass through the urban area of Ashdown [watch the speed cameras!!] and continue to the Teddington Hands roundabout. Here fork left, continuing on the A46. After a couple of miles you will see a signpost to Dumbleton village on an unclassified lane on your right. Go down this lane and , when you get to the village go right through it to the far end where you will come to the church and it is usually possible to park here. If by any chance there happens to be a wedding on it may be necessary to go back into the village and park in one of the side streets. Please remember to bring a packed lunch with you and also something to drink as, unfortunately, there are no pubs on the route! Assemble for a 11.0 a.m. start. Drivers, allow a good 75 minutes in case of traffic problems on the M5. For those of you who are familiar with the alternative route via Evesham and then travelling south on the A46, then use that route instead if you are confident with it. If you do so, the turning for Dumbleton village will be on your left. For further information, please see Derek or ring him on 429 8314 and do this anyway if the weather is dodgy.
