This next walk  will be on Saturday, 1st September and we will hopefully be walking around Astwood Bank and Sambourne. To get to the start, follow M5 south and leave at Junction 4 [Lydiate Ash]. Take the second exit [A38 south] and follow the Bromsgrove bypass, crossing the M42, until you come to the roundabout junction with the A448. Here turn left along the dual carriageway towards Redditch. When you come into Redditch, continue until the junction with the A441. At this point, take the SECOND turning on to the A441 [I THINK it is signposted Evesham]. At the first roundabout, by McDonald’s, take the third exit, staying on the A441. At the next roundabout [Crabbs Cross] take the second exit, still on the A441 and this will take you into Astwood Bank. BEWARE the frequent mobile radar traps along this road, which has a 30 mph limit. In the centre of Astwood Bank you will come to a set of traffic lights at a crossroads and here turn left – and almost immediately left again into the car park adjacent to the children’s play area. Assemble here for a 12.30 p.m. start. Drivers, allow about 50 minutes. For further details see Derek or ring him on 429 8314 – and do this anyway if the weather is dodgy.
